Asheville Citizen, Monday Morning June 6, 1932W. L. Case, 60, Farmer, dies at Fletcher.
W. L. Case, 60, farmer of the Fletcher community died at his home
Sunday night at 6 o'clock after an illness of 12 months. Surviving are
his widow Mrs. Ellen Case, two daughters, Mrs. George Hudson, and Mrs.
Albert Lanning, one son Walter Case, two brothers Alonzo and Edward and
one sister, Mrs. Ella Pressley. Funeral services will be held at Mt.
Gilead church Tuesday. Complete arrangements will be announced later.
W. L. Case Rites Conducted Today
Fletcher, June 7, - Funeral services for W. L. Case, 60 who died at his
home here on Sunday afternoon at 6 o'clock, were held this morning at 11
o'clock at the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with Rev. M. I. Lewis, pastor of
the Fletcher Baptist Church, officiating. The service was in charge of
the Arden Red Men's lodge No. 170. Mr. Case had been ill for about 12
months and had been confined to his bed for about 11 weeks. He had lived
at the Westfeldt place for about 42 years, going there when 18 years
old. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ellen Ballard Case, one son
Walter Case, two daughters, Mrs. George Hudson and Mrs. Elbert Lanning, a
step-son, Claude Ballard, two brothers, Ed Case and Alonzo Case, all of
Fletcher, and two sisters, Mrs. Ella Pressley, Linville Falls and Mrs.
Della Sitton, Horse Shoe. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.
