Harry Staples HAGEN
(28 Aug 1890 - 27 Dec 1945)
Harry's family were pioneers to Indian from the Black Forest region of
Germany about 1850, changing their name from "Von Haugen" to"Hagen".
Harry came to New Albany in 1924 as a postal inspector from Silver City,
New Mexico, where he had lived for about 15 years because of his health.
He married Hazel Jackson in 1928 and moved to his new assignment in
Kokomo, Indiana. In June 1934, they moved again to a new assignment in
South Bend, Indiana where they were living when they were divorced
December 21, 1937.
Harry died in an appartment in South Bend that he and Hazel had once
shared in 1945 and was buried in Niles, Michigan.
