Agnes de Bourgogne
(Abt 995 - 9 Nov 1068)
Agnes was the daughter of Eudes Guillaume, count of Burgundy, and Ermentrud de Roucy. She became the third wife of Guillaume III-V, duke of Aquitaine, one of the most powerful lords in France. After twelve years of marriage Guillaume died, and Agnes defeated his two sons from a previous marriage. First she ruled by herself, then later with her own two sons. She married again, but her second husband, the count of Anjou, divorced her after eighteen years. Agnes died on 9 November 1068.
