Konrad von Hohenlohe
(Est 1150 - Bef 1207)
Konrad was the son of Konrad von Weikersheim. He was the first to use the surname of Hohenlohe, in the form Hohenlach or Hohlach. The name, later also used by his brothers Heinrich and Albrecht, is derived from the castle of Hohlach, no longer in existence, at Uffenheim in Middle Franconia, to which the lords of Weikersheim had moved their seat, probably due to the proximity of Hohlach to the trade routes between Frankfurt, Würzburg and Augsburg. Supporting this hypotheses is the fact that until the 14th century the lords of Hohenlohe exercised rights of passage on the roads in the Middle Franconian lands around the Taubertal (Tauber Vale).
Konrad had a son Heinrich who would have progeny.
