Death

Hatfield, ArthurDr. Arthur Hatfield, age 74, passed away at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, California on Saturday, September 17, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Diane of over 51 years; and his children, Artie (Skylar), Jason (Camille), Matthew (Liz), Eric (Alicia), Emily, Candace (Joe Sundahl) and Betsy (Jess Miller). Additionally he is survived by 27 grandchildren who love him dearly and will miss him greatly.His father Arthur, mother Clarice, sister Jane, and daughter-in-law Camille have proceeded him in death. His loving sisters Lenoir, Nancy and Elodie.Dr. Hatfield practiced podiatry in the southern California area for the last 43 years. He also served in and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Services will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 12:00 noon at the LDS Chapel on 19191 17th Street, Huntington Beach, California. A visitation will be held from 10:00 - 12:00 noon at the same location.In lieu of flowers the family would ask donations to be made to either The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints General Missionary fund or Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation (www.tnbcfoundation.org) in the name of Camille Hatfield. Burial

Arthur William Hatfield, My mothers only brother. He was only 8 years old when I was born. He was a doctor in good health he thought. He had just had a physical 2 months ago. Exercised...ate right. Rode his bike 40 miles just about every Saturday. This past Saturday he went to his early morning flying lesson n when he got there he didn't feel good. He called his own ambulance. Then he called his wife to tell her to meet him at St. Jude's Hospital. They worked on him over an hour and a half n could not get a pulse. Doctors said his heart had calcium buildup around it. That is hardening of the arteries. His father died from hardening of the arteries when he was 68 yrs old back in 1964. Art was only 22 yrs old when his father passed away. He loved his father....he became his father. They were sooo much alike. Anyways if you go to a heart doctor they do that calcium scan or its shows up in the ECCO. No one can live with calcium buildup around their heart. My uncle didn't think he had heart problems. His blood pressure was in check. IF IF IF he had been going to a heart specialist maybe they could have done something for his calcium build up. NOW he's gone and we all have to learn to live without him.
