St. Louis Post-Dispatch (MO) — Friday, May 25, 1990 Patricia R. Cotton, a retired insurance executive, died Wednesday (May 23, 1990) at St. Luke's Hospital in west St. Louis County after suffering from cancer. She was 65.
Mrs. Cotton, of University City, began her career as a policy analyst in 1967 with ITT Aetna Insurance Co. She remained with the company after it was sold several times. She retired as a vice president in 1988 from the company, which is now Massachusetts Indemnity and Life Insurance Co.
She was a past president of the Clayton Charter Chapter of the American Businesswomen Association (ABWA) and a past chairman of its scholarship committee. In 1983, she was picked to be ABWA Woman of the Year.
She was a member of the board of directors of the Fellows of the Life Management Institute, a professional insurance organization.
Born and reared in St. Louis, Mrs. Cotton graduated in 1946 from Washington University School of Business.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at All Saints Catholic Church, 6403 Clemens Avenue, University City. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Among the survivors are a daughter, Martha R. Cotton of Pasadena, Calif., and a brother, James A. Reardon III of St. Louis.
