Birth: Aug. 21, 1940Death: Jun. 19, 2007Mary Haman Bard, age 66, of Waynesboro, PA died today at the home of her daughter, Sherry.She was born August 21, 1940 in Windber, PA, and was the daughter of the late Russell and Ruth Garland Haman. Her husband, Teddy R. Bard, died 6/4/1990.Mrs. Bard spent her school years living on E. Washington St., Chambersburg, went to Buchanan Elementary, and was in the last 8th grade class of that elementary school. She graduated from CASHS in 1958.She was a Christian, raised in the Church of the Brethren, S. 4th St. Chambersburg, and the Church of the Free Brethren of Webster Mills, PA. She taught Sunday School to children while living in Italy.Her husband Teddy was in the USAF Intelligence Service. She and her children traveled with him, living in Italy, Greece, Arizona, Massachusetts, and Texas. She loved that life, meeting new people, new cultures and making life long friends.She worked in her younger years at the Stanley Co.. After her husband retired, she worked at the Gateway Café, Snack Bar #10, Post Restaurant Letterkenny, and Kate's Kitchen in the Fayetteville Antique Mall. She loved to read, travel and cook. She was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, The women of the Moose, and the AARP.Mary is survived by four children: One daughter, Sherri Adobato (wife to Richard) of Connellsville, PA, three sons, Dan (husband to Norma) of Frederick, MD, Rev. James (husband to Wanda) of Chambersburg, and Todd of Waynesboro. Eight Grandchildren, one Sister, Thelma Jean Meminger, (wife to Ted), Chambersburg, two Brothers, Glenn, (husband to Mary) of St. Thomas, PA, William (husband to Carol), of Southold LI, New York. Also beloved nieces and nephews and Great-nieces and nephews, and 3 beloved Sister's-in-law from the Bard side. A brother, Richard, preceded her in death.
