FRANCY PALENIK CEDAR LAKE, IN Francy Palenik, 58, of Cedar Lake, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014. She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Mike Palenik; children: Michael "Smooth" Palenik and Mark Palenik; mother, Georgene Puccini; brothers: Larry (Barbara) Puccini and Frank (Mary) Puccini; sisters: Donna Jean Puccini and Laura Konopasek; nine nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Puccini. Friends and family may meet at Burdan Funeral Home, 12901 Wicker Ave., Cedar Lake (corner of Rt. 41 and 129th Ave.) on Friday, January 10, 2014 from 2:00-7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. conducted by her son, Michael J. Palenik. Francy was the ultimate motherly figure. She loved her husband and children more than anything in the world. Francy was a masterful chef, as anyone who knows her would say. She perfected the art of sewing. Francy was also a Bunco player with her best friends. More than anything else, however, she was a loving caregiver to all that had the honor of entering her home and her life.
