Jobe William Hess, 81, St. Thomas, a guest at the Extended Care Unit of the Fulton County Medical Center, for the past three years, died Monday, January 4, 1988 at the center.
Born in McConnellsburg, he was the son of the late Frank and Jessie Deshong Hess.
He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, where he was employed as a weightmaster.
He was a charter member of the Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Church in Harrisonville.
He is survived by his wife, Nina Bard Hess; three daughters: Maxine Mellott of McConnellsburg; Velva Warsing of Allentown; and Quetta Walls of St. Thomas; one son, Herbert J. Hess of Chambersburg; one sister, Hettie Sites of Harrisonville; 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, at the Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Church in Harrisonville. The Rev. Richard Vandervort and the Rev. George Spangler officiated. Burial was made in the adjoining church cemetery.
The Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home in Harrisonville was in charge of arrangements.
