Bob was born in Oak Park, Ilto Martin and Ruth Anderson. He was the youngest of three children.Occupation
Following the war, Bob met and married the loveof his life, Mary Jane “Janey” Warner. Bob passed up the opportunity to play onthe Chicago Bears choosing instead to stay with the Anderson’s Bros. Coal and Ice business because he and Janey wanted to raise a familyResidence
In 1971, Bob and Janey moved to Scottsdale, AZ. There Bob was able to raise horses, which was reminiscent of his years when he would help out his aunt and uncle on their ranch in Texas.Residence
In 1998, Bob and Janey moved to Albany, OR. Janey died that same year which was a great sadness for Bob. We know that he missed his “little bride” every day for the remainder of his life.Death
Bob Anderson died in his sleep early Friday morning, February 17, 2012 at Timberview Nursing Home. Thenursing staff told his family that Bob had a smile on his face. After almost 93 years, Bob was taken home to heaven and was re-united with his beloved wife, Janey.Miscellaneous

Thenursing staff told his family that Bob had a smile on his face. After almost 93years, Bob was taken home to heaven and was re-united with his beloved wife,Janey. Bob was a loving son,brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, athlete, sportsman,Naval aviator, and builder. Bob had a great sense of humor and an outgoing,friendly personality..Bob was born in Oak Park, Ilto Martin and Ruth Anderson. He was the youngest of three children. Bob played football at Oak ParkRiver Forest High, and went on to Northwestern University, Evanston,IL, where he played football for one year. World War II was looming, so Bobleft school to enlist in the Navy. He completed his Naval training at GreatLakes. Lieutenant Robert Anderson faithfully served his country as a Navalaviator on the Pacific coast. Following the war, Bob metand married the love of his life, Mary Jane “Janey” Warner. Bob passed up theopportunity to play on the Chicago Bears choosing instead to stay with the Anderson’sBros. Coal and Ice business because he and Janey wanted to raise a family. Bob was a faithful husbandand father. He and Janey had six children. They instilled strong values in theirchildren. Often Bob would work two or three jobs to support their family. In 1971, Bob and Janey movedto Scottsdale, AZ. There Bob was able to raise horses, which was reminiscent ofhis years when he would help out his aunt and uncle on their ranch in Texas. In 1998, Bob and Janey movedto Albany, OR. Janey died that same year which was a great sadness for Bob. Weknow that he missed his “little bride” every day for the remainder of his life. Bob enjoyed going to theAlbany Senior Center for lunch with his friends. Later, he greatlyappreciated Meals on Wheels deliveringto his home. Bob was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Church. Bob considered himself a richman. He was married to the woman he loved; he had six children, thirteengrandchildren and four great grandchildren. For him, family, faith and countrywere all important. Bob lived his life as a manof honor, courage and commitment. He was preceded in death by his parents, abrother and a sister and his wife Janey. He is survived by a large and lovingfamily. Bob’s children and their spouses are Kathy (Anderson) and Joe Reilly ofAlbany, OR; Dr. Bob Anderson, Jr., and Karen Schulz of Bettendorf, IA; JerryAnderson of Bakersfield, CA; Joanne(Anderson) and Jack Conlin of Payson, AZ; Cheryl (Anderson) and Mike Miceli ofRoselle, IL; and Bill and Chris Anderson of West Lafayette, IN. Bob was lovingly known asBoompa by his 13 grandchildren and theirspouses Jennifer (Gyovai) and Brad Beauchemin; Beth (Gyovai) and Michael Andre;Nicole (Anderson) and Scott Gawer; Jerold Anderson, Jr.; Justin and Catherine Anderson; Michael and JaneneAnderson; Eve Anderson; Lauren Miceli; Stephen Anderson; Kristen Miceli; BrianAnderson; Catherine Anderson; and Teresa Anderson. In his later years, Boompa’sfour great grandchildren, Aidan Andre, and Olivia, Emma, and Camille Beaucheminbrought him special joy.
