Richard Patrick Bluett

Good catch.  When I was researching Richard, I wrote to the Limerick Regional Archives, asking for info on Richard with parents Patrick Bluett and Catherine Cragin.  I gave his birth date as 17 Dec 1859 (all info taken from the death certificate).  After they did the research, they wrote a report that explained they had a Richard born 17 Dec 1857 (2 years earlier) and he was the son of Patrick Bluett and Catherine Browne.    Since Mary Conroy Bluett was the informant at the time of Richard's death, we cannot give  her information  (on the birth) the same weight as information about birth date and parents names recorded at the time of his birth.  The birth info from Limerick indicating Catherine Browne as the mother is not absolute.  However, since the birth day is the same as our Richard and since the Irish are notorious for being even as much as 10 years "off" on their birthdays, I took Limerick's info as correct.  Many people researching our family are taking Richard's birth date as the one on the death certificate.  But I believe it to be the one on the Limerick Report.  You can read the entire report on the CD that I sent.  If it isn't there, I assure you, it was an oversight on my part and I'll be happy to send it to you.    So that is the story behind the different last names for Richard's mother.  LOL...aren't you glad you asked???
