Dies At Nursing Home
Winamac, Ind. — Final rites for
Mrs. Sarah Stiles, 89, former Winamac
resident who died Saturday
morning at an Angola, Ind., nursing
home, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday
at the Nazarene church here,
the Rev. Truman Carter in charge,
and burial will be in Crown Hill
cemetery.
A native of Howard county, she
was born Dec. 13, 1865, to Samuel
and Jan Sanders, and her first
marriage was to David Chamness,
who preceded her in death. She was
later married to Barney Stiles, who's also deceased.
She was a member of the Bethel
friends church in Jefferson township.
Survivors are five sons, Orville
and Ray Chamness of here, Ronnie
Chamness of Francesville, Ralph
Chamess of Detroit. Mich., and
John Chamness, Brighton, Mich.;
Three daughters, Mrs. Margaret
Thomas of Angola, Mrs. Blanche
White o£ Fenton, Mich., and Mrs.
Nellie Oiness, Bellingham, Wash.;
step-son, Clarence Stiles, Detroit;
half-brother, Clifford Sanders of
Francesville; a half-sister, Pearl
Sanders, Gary; 15 grandchildren;
great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.
The body was brought to the Fry
and Lange mortuary and will be
taken today to the home of the son,
Orville, where friends may call. It
will be taken to the church at noon
Tuesday to lie in state until the
services
