Joseph Tony Grizzaffi, 83, of Pensacola, Florida, died March 24, 2012 at 2:52 PM in his Pensacola home surrounded by his family.
Joe was born March 17, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois. He has resided in the Pensacola area for the last 50 years where he retired from St. Regis Paper Company.
He enjoyed playing cards and was fond of horses and dogs. His family was very important to him and was loved by all who knew him.
Joe honorably served his country in the 1940s with the U.S. Army Air Force. He was also a proud brother of the Masons and the Shriners.
Joe was survived by his wife, Bertie Mae Graves Grizzaffi, two daughters, Sarah Larita Grizzaffi Gillette (Claude Gillette) and Sharon Lynn Grizzaffi Frehse (Jeff Frehse) and a daughter-in-law (Anniece Buffum Grizzaffi); six grandchildren: Shirley Christine Gillette Young and family and Jacob Anthony Gillette and family; Carla Joann Frehse Tackett and family; Sarah Beth Frehse Edwards and family, Rachel Ann Grizzaffi Cleveland and family and Joseph Paul Grizzaffi and family.
Joe was also survived by one brother-in-law and five sisters-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Joseph Tony Grizzaffi, Jr., 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Arrangements are with Faith Chapel North located at 1000 S, Hwy. 29, Cantonment, FL 32533. Viewing will be at 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM on Thursday, March 29, 2012 followed by a Memorial Service at 6:30 PM. Flowers will be accepted at Faith Chapel North.
