Clara Wattier, 91, of Webster died Monday, June 13, 2011 at Sanford Hospital, Webster.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 Thursday, June 16 at Christ The King Catholic Church, Webster. Burial will be in St. Otto's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 Wednesday at the church with a Liturgical Wake service at 7. Visitation will resume again one hour prior to the services on Thurs.
Clara Martha Wattier was born on August 11, 1919 in Roberts County, SD to Joseph & Martha (Miller) Kwasniewski. She attended rural country school in Roberts County till the 8th grade. Following school she lived at home helping her family farm. She married Edward Schmig in 1941. They farmed in Day County. She married Edward Wattier in 1951 in Webster, SD. They lived in Webster where worked as a nurses aide until retiring.
Clara enjoyed crafts, knitting, fishing and playing cards.
Clara was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Webster.
Grateful for having shared her life is one son; Virgil (Jacquelyn) Schmig of Loucst Grove, VA, one daughter Jacalyn (Arby) Denholm of Granbury, TX, 3 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, 9 brothers and 4 sisters.
