Bettye Jane Cluck Fields (Mrs. Ormond Wayne Fields), age 64, died suddenly of a heart attack in her home Friday, August 31, 1984. Known and loved by so many, she was born Bettye Jane Cluck, November 5, 1919 in Dewar, Oklahoma. She moved to Oklahoma City at the age of 10 with her beloved father, Mr. C.C. Cluck, a well known druggist in Oklahoma City for many years, who preceded her in death and her loving mother, Mrs. Jeanette Cluck. After graduating from Central High School, she married Ormond Wayne Fields, her beloved husband, who preceded her in death. She began her working career and after 40 years of dedicated service at the Oklahoma Tag Agency, she received her long awaited appointment as Tag Agent on May 2, 1983 and continued there until her death.
Survived by her loving son, O.W. 'Bud' Fields of Edmond, her mother, Mrs. Jeanette Cluck of Oklahoma City, a sister, Mrs. Milford 'Bebe' DeBolt, two grandsons, Jason and Devon, and a nephew, Mark DeBolt.
She was a member of the Baptist Temple Church. An active civic leader in the following organizations: Democratic National Party, the Oklahoma County Womens Democratic Club, of which she served as president for two terms, the Jefferson-Bryan Club, the Oklahoma Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, the Bethlehem Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, the Motor License Agents Association of Oklahoma, the American Business Womens Association, The National Committee to Preserve Social Security, the Central High School alumni, Carpediem Sorority, and Red Skirts of Central High.
Bettye will be missed by all her relatives and friends. Services will be held to honor her unique ability to enrich the lives of each person who came in contact with her loving and vibrant personality, on Tuesday, September 4, 1984 at 3:30 p.m. at Baptist Temple Church, with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Guardian Memorial Midtown until Tuesday noon.
