Mrs. Emma Hitzeman, 85, of Elgin, died Saturday in Sherman Hospital, Elgin. She was born Nov. 20, 1898 in Ontarioville, the daughter of William and Emma Leiseberg Harmening. She resided with her granddaughter Nancy Cain of 441 Lincoln Street. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Elgin. Also surviving her are her husband, Walter; a son, Roger in California; a daughter Mrs. John (Lyravene) Gunnell of Elgin; 2 sisters, Dorothea Nerge and Nora Martin both of Elgin; 3 other grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Harold, 4 brothers and a sister. The Rev. Timothy Krieger will officiate. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery.
