OBITUARY :
VICTIM Of ACCIDENT DIES HERE TUESDAY
George C. Weagley Dead Of Injuries At The Hospital Here
GEORGE C. WEAGLEY, 62-year-old West Side avenue resident who was seriously hurt when knocked down by a car July 8, died at the Washington County Hospital yesterday.
Weagley was struck by a car while crossing West Side avenue.
William V. Bloyer, 38, 200 block of Winter street, was listed by police as driver of the car, Bloyer told police at the time that he tried unsuccessfully to swerve in an effort to prevent the accident.
George Weagley was a member of Washington Square Methodist, was employed for 26 years by the Western Maryland Railway, and was a member of the Jr. O.U.A.M, of Greencastle.
Surviving are: wife, Emma Mowen Weagley; children, John, Illinois. George, Jr., Martinsburg, Mrs Lloyd Zimmerman, Waynesboro, Harold, Waynesboro, Woodrow, loletta, and Martin of Hagerstown; Mrs. J. P. George and Ralph, at home; step-son, George Bishop Hagerstown; sisters. Mrs. Carrie Kuhn, Mrs. Harry Fox, Winchester, Mrs. David Wetzel, Clay Hill Pa., and Mrs. Guy Smith, Lancaster; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday by Rev. Charles M. LeFew at Washington Square Methodist Church. Burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.
Friends may call at the home Thursday evening. The body wil lie in state in the church an hour before the service.
