Obituary
David G. "Palsey" McFadden, age 91, passed away July 27, 2012. He was born Oct 29, 1920 in Chambersburg, PA to Jacob and Cora (Ott) McFadden. He was married to Sue (Weaver) McFadden on Oct 30, 1981. David was employed by Chambersburg Engineering Company for 50 years where he retired as Foundry Superintendent in 1985. He was a well known musician and played Tuba in the Hagerstown Municipal Band for 58 years and volunteered his talents in numerous other local bands. He was the Past Commander and Adjutant for the American Legion Post 46 and Lodge Secretary for the Elks B.P.O.E 600. He was a 60 plus year member of the George Washington Lodge 143 F&AM, and member of the Harrisburg Consistory and Zembo Temple. He was the past chairman of the Chesapeake Chapter American Foundry Society and the Conestoga Chapter AFS. He was a member of the St. Johns UCC in Chambersburg. He is survived by his wife Sue McFadden and two sons David and John McFadden. Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made to Hagerstown Municipal Band C/O Christopher Stockslager, Treasurer 717 Morningside Avenue Hagerstown, MD 21740 or to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter 2325 Country Road Chambersburg, PA 17201. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
