Clarence E. Ott, 86, Chambersburg, died Thursday, October 12, 2000 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born April 26, 1914 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Peter C. and Anna Mary Dansberger Ott.
He worked as a machinist with Landis Tool Co., in Waynesboro, prior to working for 35 years for Chambersburg Engineering Co., as a machinist and later as a guard.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1935 to 1937.
He was a member of King Street United Brethren Church in Chambersburg. He is survived by his wife, Madalene Hendershot Ott, whom he married January 30, 1943; two daughters: Sharon L. Sellers and Jodi Averill, both of Chambersburg; two sons: Larry Ott, McConnellsburg and Jerry Ott of Chambersburg; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Cora Hahn, Mary Wingert Hoover and Anna Helman and four brothers: John, James, Peter and George Ott. Services were held Sunday, October 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg. Rev. Lester Stine officiated. Burial was made in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg
