Thomas P. Lorek, 69, of Hinckley, formerly of Elmhurst, passed away Friday, Aug. 20, 2010 at his home.
He was born on Dec. 31, 1940 in Cicero, the son of Frank J. and Charlotte M. (Gunnell) Lorek. For many years, Thomas was employed as a primary meter serviceman by Commonwealth Edison.
Mr. Lorek was united in marriage on Sept. 12, 1964 at the St. Charles Borromeo Church in Bensenville to the former Miss Theresa K. Wireman and they spent the next 45 happy years of their lives together.
Thomas was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in DeKalb. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Teri Lorek of Hinckley; his children, Thomas G. (Barbara) Lorek of Carmel, Ind. and Katrina T. (Hector) Moyer of Hinckley; his grandchildren, Alexander and Madeline Lorek, Trinity and Ericka Moyer, Adriana (Gary) Arriola and Cory Moyer; his great-granddaughter Iggy Arriola; and his brother William F. (Janet) Lorek of Glen Ellyn; as well as, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may visit from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, 2010 at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, 141 N. Maple St. in Hinckley.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 302 Fisk Ave. in DeKalb, with Father Kenneth Anderson and Father John Tapper officiating. Interment will be private.
