ELGIN - Lewis William Terlizzi, age 91 of Elgin, Illinois died on September 12, 2015 at home. He was born on May 31, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Frank A Terlizzi and Grace M. Terlizzi. He grew up in Berwyn, Illinois, attending St. Odilo's Grammar School and graduated from Fenwick High School in 1942. He attended Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois for one year and then volunteered for the Army Specialized Training Program and was inducted into the Army in June, 1943. He served with the 16th Armored Division in Europe, a part of Patton's 3rd Army, ending the war in then Pilsen Czechoslovakia. He received a Bronze Star. He returned to Loyola University, and then went to Loyola Law School receiving his JD degree in 1950. After twelve years with Allstate Insurance Company in the claim and law legal department, he joined a law firm in Dundee, Illinois. Later he joined the law firm of Brittain, Ketcham, Strass and Terlizzi in Elgin, Illinois as a trial attorney, retiring at the age of 70. He is survived by his loving wife Heidy E. Terlizzi; his children Karen (Bill) Quoss of Crystal Lake, Illinois and Eric L. Terlizzi of Salem, Illinois; four grandchildren Jennifer (Tony) Vigon and Marcus, Calvin, and Gina Terlizzi. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Mary Ann Thomsen, and a daughter Laura Terlizzi. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 11AM in Evangelical Covenant Church, 1565 Larkin Avenue, Elgin. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of services in the church. Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL
