Marion SnowMarion Robert Snow, 76, East Moline, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.Services are 3 p.m. today at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, Ill. Burial is in Spring Lake Cemetery, Savanna. Visitation is 1 p.m. to service time. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in his name.Marion was born Sept. 23, 1923, in Jamestown, N.Y., the son of Robert and Vernice Hope Strong Snow. He married Dorothy Helen Novak June 24, 1944, in San Francisco, Calif.Marion served in the United States Navy during World War II as an electronics instructor at Navy Pier in Chicago. He retired from Eaton Corp., Savanna, in 1976 and later worked for the Forestry Service in Kentucky and the Corps of Engineers in Rock Island.Marion enjoyed reading, gardening, genealogical research, computers, home construction and repair, and a good golf game.Marion's family (and spouses) includes his wife, Dorothy, East Moline; a son, Thomas (Helen) Snow, Chicago; daughters, Jeanne (Lum) Baker, Fulton, and Judith Cayard, Louise (Paul) Kallemeyn and Susan (Jesse) Fosdick, all of Savanna; a brother, Warren (Connie) Snow, Charleston, S.C.; sisters, Mary (Richard) Bensen, Kennedy, N.Y., and Carol (David) Novak, LaPorte, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
