Death
Mrs. John Householder
A pall of gloom passed over the small town of Markelsburg on Sunday morning when the news was received of the passing from this life of Mrs. John Householder, a life-long and highly respected resident of that community, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Samuel M. Gehrett of 1715 Mifflin street, where she had been cared for during her recent illness. Death was due to a complication of diseases.
Anna Barbara Householder, the daugher of Washington and Sara (Cypher) Shultz was born near Entriken, and at the time of death was aged 79 years.
On November 1, 1880, she was united in marriage with John W. Householder at the Methodist Episcopal church at Marklesburg. To this union three children were born:Grace Vandevader Householder having died in infancy, and John Cypher Householder died early in manhood, and Ada Catherine Householder, wife of Samuel M. Gehrett, of Huntingdon, survives.
In addition to the devoted husband and daughter who mourn her death are three grandchildren: Jane, Catherine and John Gehrett, and one brother, Isaac Shultz, of Chilhowee, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at the the Methodist Episcopal church at Marklesburg, on Wednesday afternoon, December 2, 1936, at 2 o'clock, with her pastor, Rev. H. M. Trautman, assisted by the Rev. C. W. Fields, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church at Huntingdon.
Friends may call at Brown's funeral home anytime until Tuesday noon when the body will be taken to her late home at Marklesburg.
Mrs. Householder throughout her entire life was an active and devoted church worker and had been one of the organizers of the Epworth League at her church in Marklesburg. She loved her Bible and her church life above all else. Her home life was filled with labors of love and devotion which reached out in interest and loving deeds to every one in the community. Her very last interest was one of gratitude for her kind neighbors. Brown's funeral service.
