Last will and testament of John SNIDER, late of the township of Colchester, in the Western District, deceased:

In the name of God Amen. I JOHN SNIDER of the township of Colchester Western District, Province of Upper Canada, being weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thank be given unto God. Calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men --- to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament - that is say principally and first of all. I give and recommend my soul into the house of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christan burial at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God; and as touching such wordly estate whereinwith it has pleased God to bless me in this life. I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. First, I give and bequeath to ELISABETH my wife four pounds provincial currency per year during her natural life to be paid by my executors out of my estate. And unto my son SAMUEL, I give and bequeath all and singular my lands, ---- and tenements by him freely to be possed [sic] and enjoyed together with fifty acres of land being the rear of lot no. forty-one in the front concession of the township of Colchester after the decease of my daughter HANNAH and her husband if she dies without heirs. And unto my daughter SUSAN, I give and bequeath thirty-seven pounds
ten shillings province currency and unto my daughter NANCY, I give and
bequeath also the sum of twelve pound ten shillings province currency. And unto my daughter SARAH I give and bequeath also the sum of twelve pounds ten shillings province currency. And also to my grand daughter CATHERINE FOX, I give and bequeath also the sum of twenty-five pounds province currency. And unto my daughter HANNAH I give and bequeath the sum of six pounds five shillings with my moveable effects freely to be possessed and enjoyed. And I do further give and bequeath unto my daughters CATHERINE, ELISABETH, MARY
and SOLAME on English shilling to be paid to each of them by my executors.
And I do further give and bequeath unto my sons, ADAM and JOHN an English shilling to be paid to each of them by my executors. All which sums is to be paid out of certain Bonds, and debts as they may severaly become due. I do likewise constitute, make and ordain ADAM SNIDER and GORDON BUCHANAN the sole executors of this my last will and Testament. At my --- decease. And further if any thing should remain in the hands of my executors after the death of my wife ELISABETH, and the payment of condegent expenses shall be divided in the following manner to my son ADAM, twelve pounds ten shillings and the remainder to be equally divided betwixt my daughters, SARAH, SUSAN, NANCY and HANNAH.
And I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke and disannul, all and every other
testaments, wills, legacies, bequests, and executors by me in any wise
before named, willed and bequeathed. Ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of March, in the year of our Lord, on thousand eight hundred and twenty-eight.
