Burdean SCHUELTER

(16 SEP 1892 - 26 FEB 1967)

Grandma SLAGHT was short, plump, wore size 5 shoes. She never wanted to be around groups of people.
Hardly ever went anywhere except to Dubuque to shop and the almost weekly Sunday drive that took them around the graveyards. Many a time I would be with them and they would stop at all the relatives tombstones. Gee I wish now I had paid more attention to where they all were!

Grandma said that part of her not wanting to go out was because of Grandpa. That he had been extremely jealous of her when they were first married and she soon came to fear meeting other people and going places because of this jealousy, so maybe her not wanting to move was Grandpa's own fault.

She had lost weight at doctors orders and had a heart attack. Was hospitalized in Plattville where she died but was still living in Hazel Green at the time.
