There seems to be a controversy regarding Ludwig Clapper's second wife. Was she Elizabeth Stiffler or Elizabeth Brumbaugh? This may clear up the question: "Blue River Township, Henry County, IN, Cemetery Inscriptions", by Thomas Hamm, Published 1982 shows on page 33 - Elizabeth Brombaugh, daughter of Conrad and Christina (Heiser) Brumbaugh married first to Ludwig Clapper, 1769-1825. He died in Huntingdon Co., Pa. Also shows Elizabeth is buried in Wayne Co., IN. She died Sept. 26, 1865 at the age of 87y, 11m, 11d, 2nd wife of John Sr.


"John Urlich Sr., (Son of Daniel Urlich). Married first Christina Brombaugh (1777-1817), the daughter of Conrad and Christina (Heiser Brombaugh). She died and is buried in Bedford Co., PA. He married as his second wife Elizabeth (Brombaugh) Clapper, a sister of his first wife. She is buried here".
