LeRoy was a soldier, (actually, he was a bomber with the US Airforce), whose plane collided midair with another plane over the North Sea and was lost. A missing aircraft report lists John A Stahlman, who then lived on 10th Street, Niagara Falls, NY as his father. The airforce did not conduct a search at the time and the plane was never recovered.
