Charles Alphes SHETROM

Charles A. Shetrom, of 1818 Washington Street, a long-time resident of
Huntingdon, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, December 26, 1962 at 4:15
o'clock in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Shetrom became ill Christmas morning and was admitted to the hospital
shortly thereafter.
The deceased was born April 5, 1882 in Everett, the son of Chris and Matilda
(Bowser) Shetrom. He was united in marriage with Mary O. Bard on September
17, 1907 at Huntingdon by the Rev. Mr. Stine. Mrs. Shetrom preceded him in
death on January 13, 1954.
Mr. Shetrom, who will be remembered as a kind and loving father, came to
Huntingdon as a small boy with his parents. He was a plumber by trade having
retired a number of years ago. He was a member of the Stone Church of the
Brethreh-and held an associate membership in the Loyal Order of the Moose,
No. 223, of Huntingdon.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Almeda Warnick and Mrs. Wallace
(Elizabeth) Moser, both of Huntingdon: three granddaughters; 9
great-grandchildren and one brother, Jesse E. Shetrom, of Huntingdon.
One daughter, two brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
The funeral service will take place Saturday afternoon, December 29, at 2
o'clock from Brown's in Huntingdon. Officiating will be the Rev. Stewart
Kauffman, pastor of the Stone Church of the Brethren, and the Rev. Raymond
Cartwright, pastor of the First Evangelical United Brethren Church. Friends
will be received at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Friday till the hour for
the service on Saturday. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery.

Personal Note: Charles middle is Alphes (as it found in WWI and WWII Draft
Registration Cards). I state this so no one don't get confuse with his
second cousin Charles A. Shetrom (middle name Ambrose) who is my
grandmother's brother. My Great-Uncle. I got scan copy of this obituary if
they want it for they records.
