Death
Obit for Sheldon E. Long: Mrs. James Schneck of 633 Maple Row was called to Oak Park, Illinois, this morning by telegram advising her of the death of her son, Sheldon E. Long, aged about 30, formerly of this city. A telegram received by Mr. Schneck this afternoon advised that the body would be brought back to Elkhart for burial, arriving Friday morning. The mother and sister, Miss Edna Robbins, who is employed in Chicago, will accompany the remains. (From Elkhart Truth, Thurs., July 16, 1925, p 2)
Funeral service for Sheldon E. Long of Oak Park, Ill, son of Mrs. James Schneck of 633 Maple Row, this city, will be held at the Schneck home at 2:30 Saturday. Rev. A.F. Hogan of St. Paul's Methodist Church will be in charge and the burial will be in Rice Cemetery. (From Elkhart Truth, Fri., July 17,1925, p 2)
According to the Rice Cemetery book, Sheldon is buried next to his mother, Elizabeth (Bowlby) Schneck and James T. Schneck (Section 37, Row 22, #46 & 47)
