Death

George M. NORRIS, 66, of Box 127, Huntingdon, R.D. 3, died at 5:30 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2000, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born May 29, 1933, in Penn Township, he was a son of the late Carl W. and Amy Ruth (Norris) Norris.

He married Mary E. Hearn, April 30, 1955, at the Hawn's Bridge Chapel by the Rev. Neil Rodgers. Mrs. Norris survives at home. Also surviving are three children: Georgana Marie Norris, Hesston, R.D. 1; Ira Hank Norris, Huntingdon, R.D. 3;
and Carol Ann Norris, Hesston, R.D. 1; two granddaughters and one great-grandson. One brother, Harold Norris, Huntingdon, R.D. 3 and two sisters, Elizabeth McKinney, Huntingdon, R.D.1 and Martha Foore, Hopewell, R.D. 2, also survive. One brother, Lester Norris and two sisters, Beulah Grubb and Ruth Norris, preceded him in death.

Mr. Norris was of the Protestant faith. He was a member of the Independent Bass Master's Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he earned the rank of corporal. He served in the Korean Conflict as a cannoneer with Battery "C" of
the 52nd Field Artillery Battalion. During his lifetime he had been employed by New Holland in Belleville for 34 years. He retired from New Holland in 1991 as a welder and quality control inspector. He was an avid fisherman and especially enjoyed Raystown Lake.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm. Monday April 10, at the Robrt E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon. Interment will be in the Anderson Cemetery, Hesston R.D. 1. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service Monday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Hartslog Valley Chapel, R.D. 1 Box 248,
Huntingdon, Pa.
