Bonnie Kaye Dilling, 51, Martinsburg RR 2, passed away early Sunday morning at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of LeVernne G. and Minnie Jane (Baker) Hoover. Her father died June 9, 1985. She married Rodney D. Dilling Feb. 22, 1974, in Martinsburg RR 2.
Surviving are her husband of 33 years; a daughter, Bobbi Stoakes (husband, Matthew) of Dover, Pa.; a son, SSG Ryan D. (wife, SSG Vanessa), both stationed at Fort Knox, Ky.; her mother of Martinsburg; a grandson, Andrew; a sister, Kathie Burch field (husband, Mark) of York; a brother, Kerry (wife, Beth) of Martinsburg; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Dilling was a longtime employee at Kopp Drug, Martinsburg, and then graduated from Mount Aloysius College, Cresson, in 2002 with a degree in surgical technology. She then was employed at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, until fall of 2007.
She was a 1974 graduate of Central High School, Martinsburg, and enjoyed gardening, baking Christmas cookies and collecting key chains from all over the world.
Mrs. Dilling was an active member of the U.S. Armed Forces Mothers and a former active member of local ambulance services, serving as an emergency medical technologist.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at John C. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Church of the Brethren, Martinsburg, by Pastor Joel F. Nogle. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
The family prefers memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Hollidaysburg.
