Notes
Death
From the Oskaloosa Independent, Jefferson County, KS, December 14,1944:
Sarah Price WILLIAMS
Sarah Price WILLIAMS was born on the old Price homestead near Fairview Church, south of Unionville, Iowa, on Oct 20 1873, and departed this life to the better home Dec 4, 1944.
She was the daughter of Alexander and Anna Price. At the age of 19 she together with her parents and sister, Mary, entered the membership of the Udell Brethren church, becoming charter members of the church.
March 29, 1900, she was united in marriage to Amzi F WILLIAMS, who preceded her in death April 1911. To this union four children, Dwight, Gladys, Robert and Russell, were born. In 1910 the family moved to a farm near McLouth, Kans. They entered membership to the Brethren Church there, which membership she held at the time of her death. She loved the Bible, her home, her church and her community and devoted her life unselfishly to them. She enjoyed spending the last three years of her life near her family and friends of Udell, serving patiently in the church and community. She was a patient, kind and loving parent seeking always to guide her family in the way which was right and to a knowledge of the Saviour she loved so well. She was a friend to all, ever ready to help those in need, even when she herself was ill.
She leaves to mourn her passing, one brother, Joseph A PRICE of Unionville, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs Mary HORNADAY and Mrs Ora POWELL of Udell, Iowa; two sisters, Jesse and Martha preceded her in death; four children, Dr Dwight WILLIAMS, Charleston, WV; Mrs Frank DONOHUE, Washington, D C; Rev Robert WILLIAMS, missionary in French Equatorial Africa; and Rev Russell WILLIAMS, New Troy, Michigan. Also a host of relatives, neighbors and friends.
Funeral services were held at Udell, Iowa, Thursday afternoon at 1:00, and in McLouth Friday afternoon at 2:00. Funeral services at McLouth were conducted by Rev Ira N H Brammell, assisted by Rev John Bower. Burial was in the McLouth cemetery.
