Death
Jean E. GRIMMINGER
CAMP HILL — Jean E. Grimminger, 83, formerly of 15 North
33rd Street, Huntingdon, and most recently residing with
her daughter, Kathryn, in Camp Hill, died on Thursday Sept.
14, 2006 at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill.
Born February 9, 1923, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of
the late Melvin E. Sr. and Gladys (Searer) Rodkey. Her
husband, whom she married on Sept. 2, 1941, preceded
her in death on May 28, 1999.
Surviving are: three children, Richard A. Grimminger and
his wife Karen, of Hesston; Polly A. Grimminger, of Penns
Hills; and Kathryn L. Shaffer and her husband William H. Jr.,
of Camp Hill; a sister, Louise A. Elliott, Atlanta, GA; a brother
George E. Rodkey, of Camarillo, CA; seven grandchildren,
four great grandchildren; and four nieces and two
nephews.
She was preceded in death by: a brother, Melvin E.
Rodkey, Jr., of Lewistown.
She was a graduate of Derry Township High School.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the 15th Street United Methodist
Church, Huntingdon.
She loved to read and enjoyed many types of crafts,
especially knitting.
Her memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the
Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, 1106 Mifflin Street,
Huntingdon, with the Rev. Fred E. Hickok officiating.
Interment will be in Huntingdon Memorial Gardens.
