Obituary of JOSEPH VERNON VANTUYL
Joseph Vernon VANTUYL, 95, died Dec. 14, 2000, at his home in Pleasant Valley, Mo. He was the father of the late Larry VANTUYL of Florence. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Claycomo Baptist Church. Born April 6, 1905, at Peabody, he was a farmer until moving to Claycomo in 1955, where he worked as a carpenter. He was married to Helen TAYLOR Nov. 6, 1927. She died in 1993. The couple had seven children, three of them preceding him in death: Jeanne FRANIS, Edith HOUSEMAN, and Larry VANTUYL. Survivors include Robert VANTUYL of Stockton, Mo., Mervin VANTUYL of Liberty, Mo., Jay VANTUYL of Claycomo, Mo., and Barbara ATKINS of Kansas City; 26 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
