DANVILLE - Dr. Bryce E. NICODEMUS, 64, of 471 S. Main St. died yesterday at Geisinger Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 25, 1909, in Barberton, Ohio, to the late Wilmer C. and Lillian Snyder NICODEMUS. He is survived by his widow, the former Ruth D. GOFF.
Also surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Ruth Ann) HENDRICKS of Lewistown R. D. 4 and Mrs. William (Karen) LINDEMAN of Elizabethtown, three brothers, Chester R. of Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Roy E. of Danville and Elno C. of Wynnwood and six grandchildren.
Dr. NICODEMUS was a graduate of Susquehanna University in 1931 and at the time of his death was serving on the advisory board of the university, was a 1935 graduate of Jefferson Medical College and served his internship at Geisinger Hospital from 1936-1937 during which time he was anatomy instructor at the Geisinger School of Nursing.
He began practicing general medicine in Lewistown in 1937 which he continued until ill health forced him to retire in 1969. He had served as chief of staff at Lewistown Hospital and as president of the medical staff and served several years as head of the hospital's pediatrics department.
Dr. NICODEMUS was past president of the Mifflin County Medical Society, a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society and American Medical Society, was the president of the Mifflin-Juniata Community Nursing Service and was past president and chairman of the Mifflin-Juniata Heart Association.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, a member and past president of the Lewistown Rotary Club, a member of the BPO Elks and the Lewistown Country Club.
A funeral service will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert G. Sander officiating. Friends may call at Heller's Woodland Funeral Home Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and the body will lie in state at the church on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
