John S. BRUMBAUGH
LEWISTOWN — John S. BRUMBAUGH, 72, formerly of Lewistown and rural Martinsburg, died Friday, April 30, 2004, at Altoona Center for Nursing Care. He was born Aug. 19, 1931, in North Woodbury Township, Martinsburg RR 1, to the late Denver S. and Delcie Pearl (Mowery) BRUMBAUGH. He was thrice married.
Surviving are five sons, William A. of Mercersburg, Kenneth of McConnellsburg, Timothy of Everett, John D. of McClure and Jeremy of Knoxdale; eight daughters, Pamela HOSTLER of Fort Louden, Melanie SCHOEN of Fort Littleton, Janie SNYDER, Susan WILSON and Lindsey KOCH, all of Lewistown, Jo-nell and Sharon HESS, both of Newport, and M. Darlene HOLLENBAUGH of Stratonville; two sisters, Helen JOHNSON of Martinsburg and Donna ALBRIGHTof Martinsburg RR 2; two brothers, Robert A. and Ronald E., both of Martinsburg RR 1; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was of the Church of the Brethren faith.He was retired as a truck driver with Juniata Concrete Co., Mifflintown, and had a total of 33 combined years of driving trucks.He was a 1949 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg RR 1. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and also played semi-professional baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was a former member of the Bass Masters.His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Memorial Church of the Brethren, Martinsburg, with Pastor David A. Steele officiating.
Interment will be made at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
John C. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Martinsburg Youth Baseball League in memory of John S. BRUMBAUGH.
