Her father moved west to Ogle Co., then Carroll Co., IL. The family relocated to the Silver Creek Community (Brethren, Dunker) northeast of Falls City in 1870. Franklin and Susan were the only two of Elder John's 19 children who remained for a time in Illinois. Both are buried in the Silver Creek cemetery.
