Funeral services for Jerry Owen JAPP, 38 of 1205-b Chappell Hill Street, will be held Sunday, Oct. 7 at 4 P.M. in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Ferguson and Mike Habermehl officiating.
Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
Mr. JAPP died Oct. 5, 1990 in Pearsall, Texas.
He was born June 9, 1952, in Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Henry G. and Beth (Stratton), JAPP of Gainesville, Texas.
He was educated at Hays High School and attended Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas.
On March 1, 1974 he married Kathryn HALL in McComb, Mississippi.
Mr. JAPP was baptized at First Presbyterian Church of Great Bend, Kansas.
Mr. JAPP was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brenham, where he served as a Sunday school teacher. He also served as a Boy Scout Assistant Scout Master at Salem Lutheran Church. He had been active in scouting and had earned his Eagle and God and County Award as a youth.
He was also an active member in the Washington County Soccer Association for a number of years.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy JAPP, two sons Eric L. JAPP and Neil R. JAPP of Brenham; one sister and brother-in-law, Susan J. and Francis WESSELMAN and one niece and nephew, Bevin and Christopher of Mesquite, Texas; and mother-in-law, Mildred HALL of McComb, Mississippi.
Pallbearers are Jim BROWN, Wayne HEINE, Jim STORY, Don KENNEDY, Greg APPEL and Archie SEALE.
All other friends are considered honorary pallbearers.
Mr. JAPP was resident of Brenham for over 10 years.
An educational fund for his two sons have been set up at the Washington County State Bank.
Arrangements are being handled by Memorial Oaks Chapel of Brenham.
