Elizabeth WEAVER's obituary in the Huntingdon Monitor Friday, November 18,1910.
She died at her home , near Saxton, Thursday, Nov. 10. She was milking when she took sick. She was able to reach the house but died before medical aide arrived. Her father was Daniel MOUNTAIN and her mother's maiden name was Elizabeth DOWLING. Her mother was a daughter of Jane Maguire DOWLING who was famous in the early history of the state. Elizabeth MOUNTAIN was married to D. B. WEAVER , Dec. 2, 1869. Mrs. WEAVER was a consistent member of the Church of God at Saxton since 1875. Funeral services Thursday, conducted by Rev. F. W. McGuire.
"Mrs. David WEAVER died at her home, near Saxton, Thursday, Nov. 10. She was at the barn milking when she took sick. She died before medical aid reached her. Elizabeth Mountain WEAVER was born in Hopewell Township, Huntingdon County, May 27, 1841. her father was Daniel MOUNTAIN and her mother was Elizabeth DOWNING. Both were of Irish descent and her grandmother was Jane MAGUIRE who is mentioned in Pennsylvania history, because she escaped from savage Indians by holding on to a cow's tail. Elizabeth MOUNTAIN was united in marriage to David B. WEAVER, Dec. 2, 1869 by the Rev. R. E. Wilson. She is survived by her husband and six children; Mrs. Clara BENSON, Salter, Pa. ; Mrs. Mary METZGER, Yardsville, N.J. ; William E. New York City; John M,, Milltown, Washington and James and Effie H. WEAVER of Saxton. Mrs. WEAVER was a member of the Church of God at Saxton since 1875. She was a woman of excellent disposition and is mourned by her family and a wide circle of friends. The funeral was Thursday, conducted by her pastor, Rev. F. W. McGuire."
