Death
Edna Marie AMICK, 86, of 1005 Spring St., Saxton, died at 11:59 am. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. Her death was unexpected and followed emergency surgery.
Born Nov. 2, 1916, in Stonerstown, she was a daughter of the late Charles I. and Annie (Hoover) BAUGHMAN.
She was united in marriage to Paul L. AMICK Feb. 24, 1938, in the Stonerstown Church of the Brethren Parsonage, by the Rev. Clyde Bush. Mr. AMICK survives at their home.
She is survived by one daughter and two sons; Mrs. Duane (Carmen Lee) WHITE, Clearfield; Donald L. AMICK, The Colony, Texas; and R. Stanley AMICK, Hanover.
There are 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
One sister and three brothers survive; Dolores MEARS and Ross "Pete" BAUGHMAN, both of Saxton; Dan BAUGHMAN, Paradise; and Clair "Dutch" BAUGHMAN, Davenport, Fla.
A number of nieces and nephews survive.
She was preceded in death by one son, Paul Rodney AMICK, July 26, 1981; three sisters, Evelyn MACLAY, Betty ROLAND and Catherine PINKERTON; and four brothers, Harold, Charles, Donald and Bobby "Coon" BAUGHMAN.
Mrs. AMICK was a life member of Saxton United Methodist Church where she served on the church board and was active with the United Methodist Women. For approximately 10 years, she served as a youth Sunday School teacher.
She was a member of the Broad Top Area Senior Citizens.
For a number of years she was employed by the former Scampers Sewing Factory, Saxton, as a seamstress.
She enjoyed sewing and baking goods to give away.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at the D. Ronald Long Funeral Chapel, Saxton, with Pastor Todd Templeton, assisted by Pastor Duane A. White, officiating.
Interment will be made in Fockler Cemetery, Saxton, R.R.
