Dewey SHAFFER, 72, Newville R. D. 2, died Dec. 8, 1971, at home. Born in Windber, son of the late Andrew D. and Phoebe (Berkey) SHAFFER. Survived by widow, former Nellie CRISWELL and these children: Mrs. Charles BUNTON, Mainland, Pa; Mrs. Donald STATLER, Windber; Mrs. Mack BOWMAN, Harleysville,
Pa; Mrs. Francis BEAR, Carlisle, Pa; Robert, Camp Hill, PA; Clarence, Charles, Dewey Jr., Melvin, and Irvin, all of Newville R. D. 2; also 24 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren, brother, Harry, Windber, and sister, Mrs. Lizzie McFELLEY, California. Retired farmer.
Friends received at the Egger Funeral Home, Newville, where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday. Interment, Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle.
