Death

Donald L. WERTZ, 65, Box 507, Hollidaysburg RR 3, died Saturday afternoon,
September 11, 1999, at Beverly Healthcare-Hillview. He was born February 23,
1934, in Loop Station, Hollidaysburg, son of the late Virgil M. and Helen E.
(SNOWBERGER) WERTZ. Mr. WERTZ was a member of West Loop Missionary Church
and its Sunday school class and served as assistant pianist. He also
attended Loop Station Community Church, where he served as pianist. He
played the piano for church groups and community functions. He formerly was
employed by the Blair County Garage, Hollidaysburg, Dave's Dream and Chilcote's Restaurant.
Mr. WERTZ was a 1952 graduate of Hollidaysburg Senior High School and a 1957
graduate from Bethel College, with a bachelor of arts degree. Mr. WERTZ was
a member of the Cross Keys Senior Citizens Group
and the Duncansville Golden Agers. He is survived by two brothers: Kenneth
H. and Robert E., both of West Loop, Hollidaysburg. Friends will be received
from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Sorge Funeral Home,
Hollidaysburg.
WERTZ- Funeral services for Donald L. WERTZ will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday
at Sorge Funeral Home by Pastor David L. FOOR. Interment will be made at
Alto-Reste Park. He is survived by five nieces and nephews, 14 great-nieces
and nephews and four aunts. Memorials may be given to WJSM Radio,
Martinsburg. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at
the funeral home. Mr. WERTZ enjoyed helping others.
