Death
Franklin A. CLAPPER of Aitch Rd. died Thursday, November 23, 1972 at 7a.m. in the Veterans Hospital, Altoona, following a brief illness.
Born August 26, 1912 in Shy Beaver, he was a son of the late J. Grant and
Elizabeth (DORMAN) CLAPPER.
Surviving are an uncle and aunt, George W. CLAPPER of Huntingdon Rd. and Mrs. Harry (Gertrude) SHAFFER of Windber, and a number of cousins.
The deceased had served as Burgess of Saxton in 1954, during the
Saxton-Liberty Centennial.
He was of the Reformed faith. The World War II veteran was formerly
employed as a teacher at the State Correctional Institution, Huntingdon.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 25, 1972 from the Masood
Funeral Chapel, Saxton. The Rev. Richard SQUIRE officiated and interment was in Reformed Cemetery, Russellville.
