OBIT - Harold FLICKINGER
Harold FLICKINGER, 91, Deming resident, passed away Saturday January 14, 2006 at Mimbres Memorial Nursing Home.
Funeral Services Will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jamuary 19, 2006 at The First United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Seymour officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery in Fort Bayard.
Harold was born April 22, 1914 in Ashland, Ohio to Mary Alma DeVeis and Thomas Alonzo Flickinger. He worked as a machine operator and had been a Deming resident since October of 1978 coming from Ashland.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the 7th Division during World War II. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
His memberships included the First United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans. Harold volunteered in the community delivering meals and at the Luna County Museum for 12 years.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth of the home; a son, Steven Flickinger of Ashland; a daughter, Christine Flickinger of Ashland; a brother, Paul Flickinger of Fort Clinton, Ohio; and a sister, Helen Griffin of Fort Clinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Eugene Flickinger.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church or the Disabled American Veterans.
