Death
LEWISTOWN - Richard B. Fultz, 78, of 323 S. Dorcas St., Lewistown, died at 7 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2000, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born Aug. 2, 1921, in Burnham, he was the son of the late Stanley C. and Clara E. (Stuckey) Fultz. His first wife, Mary (Harmon) Fultz, preceded him in death. His second wife, Betty (Baker) Fultz, whom he married April 25, 1974, survives. Also surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. David (Dr. Mary Lou) Allred, Bethesda, Md.; sisters and brother, Mrs. Carl (Isabel) Paige, Port Royal, Lawrence Fultz, Granville, and Mrs. Thomas (Miriam) Burns, Spring Run. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Stuckey, who raised him. He was a 1940 graduate of Fayette High School and a 1990 graduate of Liberty Home Bible Institute, Lynchburg, Va. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 963rd Field Artillery Battalion from 1942-1945, participating in Normandy Beach, St. Lo., Rhine River, Luxemburg and the Battle of the Bulge. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the European African Middle Service Medal with five bronze stars and the Jubilee of Liberty Medal from Normandy. Early in life, he delivered for Beaver Brothers Bakery, the Royal Dairy and Bell Laundry. He then was an inspector for B.F. Goodrich, Oaks. He was a member of the Milroy C&MA Church and attended the Evangel Baptist Church, Lewistown. He was also a member of the VFW. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Dr. Gregory K. Tyree officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, where military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
