John Stevens GARL had a brother named William that moved to VA after the Revolutionary War and never heard from again.
John and his brother, William, were chopping wood in the forest in Prussia, when they were pressed into the King of Hess' army on the spot and put in the Hessian Army given to King George lll to fight in the Revolutionary War. They were taken prisoner in New Jersey, and joined Washington's army. They both fought until the end of the war.
