Death
Daniel M. Brumbaugh, highly esteemed Saxton resident, died at his home at 10:45 p.m. yesterday, April 26, 1948. Born in Liberty Township, Bedford County, on June 5, 1873, he was the son of Jacob and Mary Ann (Carson) Brumbaugh. He married Elizabeth Guthridge on March 4, 1894. Mrs. Brumbaugh died on October 28, 1938. These children are surviving: Wesley E. Brumbaugh, Akron, Ohio; Mrs. Ralph Cunningham, the Rev. Daniel Brumbaugh, Mrs. Charles Saylor and Richard and Blair Brumbaugh, all of Saxton; Owen Brumbaugh, Lewistown; Mrs. Hiram Moore and Mrs. Beatrice Jessel, both of Huntingdon; Levi Brumbaugh, Oklawaha, Florida; and Mrs. Belle Lloyd, Riddlesburg. There are 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He served as Sunday School superintendent a number of years ago. He was also active in the I.O.O.F. He was a man of character and carried the esteem of all who knew him. The funeral service will be held in the Robert E. Huff funeral chapel at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Paul Dilling will officiate. Burial will be in the Brumbaugh Cemetery, Saxton R.D. Friends may call at the at the home until 10 a.m. Thursday when the body will be taken to the funeral chapel.
