Samuel Dallas Miller, 86, of Huntingdon, R.D. 4, diedWednesday, March 1, 2000, at 8:05 p.m., at The Oaks atWestminster Woods. Born April 19, 1913, in Henderson Township, Huntingdon County,he was the son of the late Samuel and Elsie (McElwain) Miller.He married Louise Davis May 29, 1937. Mrs. Miller survives at home, along with a son, Jeffrey D.Miller of James Creek. There are four grandchildren and onegreat-grandson. Three sisters also survive: Janet Johnson, San Clemente,Calif.; Beulah Rose, MeVeytown, R.D. 1; and Dorothy Miller,Huntingdon. One sister, Rachel Nagel, preceded him in death. Mr. Miller was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church,Huntingdon, R.D. 3. He also belonged to the Stone Creek ValleyLions Club and the Standing Stone Senior Citizens. For a number of years he was employed by H.T. Reynolds ofHuntingdon., He retired in 1975 from J.C. Blair MemorialHospital, after 30 years of service as head of maintenance. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience ofthe family, with Pastor Peter J. Naschke officiating.Interment will be made in the Mt. Zion Lutheran ChurchCemetery, Huntingdon, R.D. 3. There will be no public viewing or visitation. In lieu offlowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stone CreekValley Lions Club, Cold Springs Road, Huntingdon, Pa. 16652. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Robert E.Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon.
