George W. DILLING

The family moved to Macon County near Oakley, IL. in October 1874. He graduated from Decatur Business University in March 1891. He moved with his mother to Cerro Gordo, IL. in September 1893 where he engaged in the retail shoe business. About 1898 he was sent by his mother to Seattle, Washington to settle an inheritance for her and he stayed there where he engaged in the real estate brokerage business. He was elected to the state legislature 1903-1905 and was mayor of Seattle 1911-1912. He was married to Florence STEVENS at Eau Claire, Wisc in April 1905.
