Obituary of David H. MOCK:

David H. MOCK, a well known farmer residing on Piney Creek, died suddenly at about 4:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon of last week while on the streets of Martinsburg. Death was due to heart failure.
Mr. MOCK had been in failing health for some time but on the day of his death had come to town and consulted Dr. G. F. DANDOIS in regard to his eyesight. While in the doctor's office he was warned as to the weak condition of his heart and was advised to be careful. On leaving the office he came up as far as the Deford meat market and grocery where he fell over. Friends took him to the office of Veterinarian LINDERMAN and summoned Dr. DANDOIS. On the arrival of the doctor, he announced that death had already taken place. Undertaker J. P. REARICK took charge of the body and had it removed to his late home on Piney Creek.
David H. MOCK was past 66 years of age, having been born March 2, 1853. His wife who was Mary KEITH, died four years ago. He was a well known farmer of this community, having lived on Piney Creek for many years.
He is survived by the following children: James of Iowa, Thomas of Clappertown, Mrs. Harriet SMITH of Piney Creek, Mrs. Mary KAHLEY of Roaring Spring, Iva Edward, Annie, Pauline and Gladys, all at home.
Funeral services were held Sunday morning in the M. E. church at this place at 10:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. C. B. LITTLETON. Interment in Fairview cemetery. A large concourse of friends paid their respects to the departed.
